The creative industry has a long tradition on the southern banks of the Spree river. As early as 1919, the Carl Lindström AG moved into Schlesische Straße 26/27, where a recording-concert hall and various studios were built. In addition, there was a pressing plant, a printing press, and a device factory. Naturally, office and storage space was also provided. At the peak of its production, Europe's largest music factory produced 150,000 shellac records and over 1,000 playback devices. It can therefore be confidently stated that the Big Bang of the Berlin music industry originated from the Schellack courtyards. To this day, the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurialism has not changed at this special location.

The protected commercial courtyards combine nearly 100 years of architectural history. The oldest buildings date back to 1919, and in 1997, the site was expanded with a new building.
