Oranienstraße was named after the Dutch House of Orange in 1849. The name derives from the Orange - and this in turn is the namesake of today's Orangen-Höfe. From the beginning, numerous small businesses dominated the courtyards. The record was held in 1943, when a total of 49 businesses were registered in the building complex, which was built in 1890. Even today, the listed brick buildings in the courtyard house a colorful mix of industries.
