Originally built as a factory for fittings and metalware at the end of the 19th century, the location was given its name by the Aqua-Butzke-Werke AG (producer of plumbing fittings) since the mid-1970s. The architect and government building master Georg Lewy adorned the facades with multi-colored brick, pilasters, and round arches, and decorated them lavishly with Art Nouveau elements.



The Property

The listed old building was completed in 1898, while the new building with components I and II followed in the 1960s. The entire property comprises five upper floors in the old building, two upper floors in the new building, and a shared basement.

From 2011-2012, the annex from the 1960s on Lobeckstraße was renovated, insulated, and energy-optimized. Several hundred square meters of new office space were created.

Currently, the commercial units are leased to a variety of users from the creative industry.
